How to use this calculator?

  1. Enter the inner diameter of the pipe in the selected unit.
  2. Enter the length of the pipe in the selected unit.
  3. Get your calculated volume. If needed, you can change its unit.

How to calculate the Pipe Volume?

With the diameter:
Pipe Volume = π * (d² / 4) * length
Where:
  • d - diameter
With the radius:
Pipe Volume = π * r² * length
Where:
  • r - radius

Example

Calculate the volume of a pipe with a diameter of 6 inches and a length of 8 feet.

6 inches = 0.5 ft

Pipe Volume = π * [(0.5 ft)² / 4] * 8 ft

Pipe Volume = π * (0.25 ft² / 4) * 8 ft

Pipe Volume = π * 0.0625 ft² * 8 ft

Pipe Volume ≈ 3.14 * 0.5 ft³

Pipe Volume ≈ 1.57 ft³ ≈ 11,75 gal [US]
